Parc Maasresidence Thorn is Opening its Gates!

Nestled in against the Belgian border lies a little town called Thorn. It is surrounded by an intricate ecosystem of waterways, peninsulas, and meanders formed by the Meuse river and human hands over the centuries. It is here, right in the middle of this beautiful area, that Parc Maasresidence Thorn is opening her gates on the 29th of April.

Parc Maasresidence Thorn is Opening its Gates!

The park does not necessarily stand out among the trees and the various lakes, but that has never been the intention. Parc Maasresidence Thorn, with its old Dutch-style houses, green hedges and spread-out plan, attempts to assimilate nature rather than push it away. Perched upon a grassland in an alcove, the harbor provides direct access to the river.

So, what can be expected once the park is open?

The Water

The unique waterscape of the Meuse attracts many people for sightseeing and watersports. Just outside of the harbor is where the action takes place. The wide-open waters and the strong breeze make this part of the Meuse ideal for sailing, parasailing, canoeing and leisure boating. The area is dotted with docking points and equipment rental. In the summer, the numerous coves and inlets provide pleasant and sheltered water to swim in.
For the more adventurous, some exciting activities are to be found nearby…
Seek out adventure by crossing the “Grote Hegge” from the harbor with a pedal boat! Or simply just explore the diverse natural beauty lining the shore! Not exciting enough? Try floating above the water on a motorized surfboard at the E-Foil rental just outside the park.

The Park

The park is self-sustaining when it comes to facilities and activities. The houses are all built to provide the comforts one would expect at home. With a fully equipped kitchen, a combi-washer/dryer, and a large outside terrace, these luxury houses form the base of operations for any family or group of friends wanting to explore the area. The “MRT Promenade”, the main building of the park, serves as a central gathering point. The MRT Shop & Bakery provides all the necessary essentials for the holiday homes, whilst Humphrey’s Restaurant Thorn offers an exquisite alternative for guests who do not wish to cook for themselves. An entertainment hub, including a bowling alley and the Happy Benny Kids Club give guests of all ages and interests something to indulge themselves with. Finally, the multi-lingual reception serves to help guests in any inquiries or requests they may have. Their knowledge of the park and surroundings combined with their hospitable background make it well worth visiting them for advice.

MRT Beach

A walkway with a quaint blue drawbridge secludes the park marina and leads guests towards something truly unique: the MRT Beach! From April onwards, this beach will provide all the comfort one would expect from a seaside beach, yet it is only a stone’s throw away from the holiday homes.

The Opening

With the houses, the boulevard, the harbor, and the staff all neatly polished and groomed, an atmosphere of anxious anticipation hangs over the park. The first day is critical for a holiday park because first impressions last the longest. It will grant the opportunity to show off a brand-new park, fully equipped to the needs of the customer, while it gives the guest a chance to review the impact of the service given. Once the guests turn down for the night and rest their heads upon the new pillows, then, and only then, will the staff rest their heads too, knowing that the park is up and running.

The first day is like the first heartbeat. Once it has started, the days will beat away in a superb rhythm.
