In February 2024, we shared our ambition to achieve EarthCheck recognition. In the same year, we have gotten EarthCheck Bronze Benchmarked and today, we are proud to announce that our efforts have been rewarded even further: Parc Maasresidence Thorn has officially achieved EarthCheck Silver Certified status. This milestone reflects our commitment to rigorous measurement, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our sustainability practices. We extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated employees and partners for making this achievement possible. But our journey doesn’t stop here - we are determined to advance even further toward higher certification levels, such as Gold and beyond.

Through initiatives focused on optimizing energy consumption, reducing waste, and promoting biodiversity, we continue to build a resort that not only delivers an unparalleled holiday experience but also actively safeguards our planet.

As part of our biodiversity efforts, we kindly ask our guests not to feed or interact with wild animals in and around the park. Nature Cleanup Day

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, Parc Maasresidence Thorn proudly continues its annual Nature Cleanup Day initiatives under the EarthCheck Program. Together with our employees, partners, and local municipality, we actively contribute to a cleaner, healthier natural environment - both within the park and in the surrounding community.

In 2024, our teams carried out multiple cleanup activities, removing significant amounts of litter and helping restore the beauty of our local landscapes.

- 31/01/2024: A large-scale cleanup was organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Maasgouw. Over 30 employees - from management to operational teams - joined forces to collect waste in the resort’s natural areas and even part of Thorn’s village center, using equipment provided by the municipality.

- 28/03/2024: A follow-up cleanup at the park brought together a smaller group of 10 team members, who collected approximately 15 bags of trash.

- 26/11/2025: 13 colleagues from all departments held a successful clean-up operation at and around Parc Maasresidence Thorn. They picked up litter in the park, around the park, and especially along the waterfront, where most of the rubbish was found. Thanks to their joint effort, they collected no less than 13 full bags of waste.

And that's not all: in the spring, they will hit the road again to continue making a difference together!

Thanks to these collective efforts, we continue to improve the quality of our environment and reinforce our commitment to a well-maintained, sustainable Parc Maasresidence Thorn - today and for the future.

Natural Playground

Creating a sustainable resort goes beyond energy efficiency and responsible operations - it also includes offering natural, high-quality outdoor spaces where guests can play, explore, and connect with nature. That’s why Parc Maasresidence Thorn partnered with IJreka Speeltoestellen to design and build several safe, durable playgrounds throughout the resort.

Our natural playgrounds are built with Robinia wood, a strong and naturally resilient material sourced from sustainably managed forests. Its durability eliminates the need for chemical treatments, ensuring a safe and eco-friendly play environment for children.

With long-term warranties, certified materials, and a focus on natural play, these playgrounds reflect our dedication to quality, sustainability, and guest well-being. They form an important part of our broader EarthCheck efforts - creating spaces that enrich guest experiences while protecting the environment around us.
