Limburg’s best kept secret
Parc Maasresidence Thorn is located next to De Grote Hegge, which is part of The Maasplassen. The Maasplassen consists of lakes both small and large, all connected to the Meuse river. With an area of 3,000 hectares, they form the largest continuous water area in the Netherlands, perfect for holidays and leisure. The recreational value of the wetlands is therefore Limburg’s best kept secret.

The Maasplassen area therefore is perfect for sailing around with a boat or sloop. The cultural landscape and historic villages and towns of Limburg all make an appearance on the banks. It is a varied area of small and medium-sized ponds. You can get from one lake to the another via the most beautiful waterways. There are many mooring options connected by the Meuse and smaller waters.

The MRT Harbor in the park
You can moor your own boat or rent a sloop in the marina.
From here you can walk straight to your holiday villa or apartment or sail out onto the beautiful Maasplassen. If you don’t have your own boat, you can rent a sloop from the park. The sloops are located in the marina, next to the park’s boulevard and are easy to drive while you don’t even need a boating license.
Here you will have every opportunity to sail freely and plan beautiful day trips on the Meuse.
