Before 2023 draws to a close, Parc Maasresidence Thorn will be going all out. In the last month of the year, the park will be filled with boundless exciting activities, including a skating rink, a winter cruise, a Christmas treasure hunt and, of course, Santa’s sleigh! The surrounding region around Parc Maasresidence Thorn will not stay idle either. Discover all the charming Christmas markets, unique festivals, and amazing shopping venues.From the 27th of November 2023, till the 8th of January 2024 we will have a stunning skating rink on the terrace of Humphrey’s Thorn! Slip and slide all day long before finishing off with a delicious dinner!
Whether you’re a park guest or not, everyone is welcome to enjoy the beautiful rink. Enjoy a full day of skating for just € 7,50 (€ 3,50 for children). A pair of skates is included in the price, as it is not permitted to use your own. Head on over to Humphrey’s Thorn restaurant for a cup of hot chocolate afterward!
All aboard! Reserve a spot on the special winter and Christmas cruise of Rederij Cascade and make an unforgettable journey across the Maasplassen on the 24th or 31st of December. Huddle up beneath a cozy blanket on de deck of a gorgeously decorated ship and watch the endless starry night. Upon arrival, Santa himself will welcome you aboard and during the cruise, all kinds of delicious Christmas treats will be served.
During the festive days, an enchanting Christmas sleigh will be set up at the reception. Take a stunning Christmas photo against a wonderful, winter background together with friends and family.
On December 22nd, Santa himself will be coming by! Between 14:30 and 18:00 he is more than happy to take a picture with everyone!
Good food is an integral part of every Christmas. Luck may have it that Humphrey’s Thorn knows a thing or two about good food. For € 45.00 you can enjoy a delicious Christmas or New Year’s menu at the restaurant. There is also a special children’s menu for € 19.50.

Are you a brainy puzzler and a brilliant detective? Then maybe you can help us find all the Christmas figurines throughout the park! This winter, there will be a special Christmas treasure hunt with all kinds of puzzling puzzles and tantalizing trivia.
On the 16th and 17th of December, between 15:00 and 20:00, the Eynder Pieck festival is back again!
Each year, the Eynderhoof open-air museum leaps back in time to the setting of Anton Pieck’s paintings, with cozy little stalls, nice bites, music, a merry-go-round, and a fire spectacle!
Tickets cost € 8.50 for grown-ups and € 4.00 for children, and the museum is a 20-minute drive from the park.
On the 10th of December, the charming white city of Thorn will be more charming than ever!
Their yearly Christmas market, with more than 70 different stalls, will be erected in the city center. Here, you can enjoy delicious bites, warm mulled wine, gleeful music, and a whole array of Christmas activities. Between 12:30 and 17:00 there will also be several mesmerizing concertino’s in the abbey church.
Prepare for a spectacle of light in Roermond between the 10th of November and the 7th of January. Starting from the city hall, a dazzling route, filled with light art, shows, and XXL photo spots winds through the city.
Furthermore, Designer Outlet Roermond will go the extra mile once again to deliver an amazing Christmas shopping experience. Throughout the festive season the shopping village turns into a fairytale Christmas village, with sparkling displays, little food stands, and of course, great Christmas deals!
Valkenburg, the pearl of South-Limburg, once again has wild plans coming Christmas. Apart from the Christmas parade and Santa’s visit, the famous caves of Valkenburg will host a unique Christmas market between the 17th and 30th of December.
Make sure to take a good look around as the caves hide many wonders, such as beautiful decorations, walk-by stories, light spectacles, and more!
During the festive season, Maastricht is nothing short of breathtaking. The cozy shopping streets are adorned with colorful decorations and sparkly Christmas lights.
Once again, between the 30th of November and the 31st of December, the Vrijthof will host a stunning Christmas market with the world-famous Christmas concert of André Rieu on 16th of December as the cherry on top.
